Scolohofo was a jazz supergroup formed in the late 1990s, comprising guitarist John Scofield, saxophonist Joe Lovano, bassist Dave Holland, and drummer Al Foster.

While the quartet officially joined forces in 1999, one week during Montreal Jazz Festival, the four players have a much longer association together. Foster and Scofield got to know each other as part of Miles Davis’ band way back in the 1980s. Lovano and Scofield know each other from even before that, playing together in the 1970s in Boston. Their inaugural album “Oh!” saw the group apply their adventurous approach to post-bop with plenty of avant-garde improvisation and free rhythmic underpinning.
