Jazz-funk organist, keyboardist, and composer Ronnie Foster (born 1950) is one of the most prominent masters of the Hammond B-3 organ.

Foster started out working as a sideman for Grant Green and George Benson, before he released a string of successful albums as a leader, including the Blue Note classics “Two-Headed Freap” and “Cheshire Cat”. His infectious grooves, intricate improvisations, and deep sense of soul are continuously rediscovered by new generations, making him a go-to sample source for many hip-hop artists. Since the 1980s, Foster has also become an in-demand producer for fellow contemporary jazz acts.
