Born in New Jersey, Gardot survived a near-fatal road accident in her late teens. Confined to hospital for over a year, she wrote her first EP “Some Lessons: The Bedroom Sessions” during her recovery. Re-recording those songs with a band in the studio led to her debut album “Worrisome Heart.” The mix of jazz, blues, french chanson and bossa nova was well-received and critically acclaimed. Her second album “My One and Only Thrill” saw her work with Larry Klein and Vince Mendoza, and in 2020 she dueted with Sting on the single “Little Something.”
